Beacon Installation Services was engaged to deliver a complete turnkey solution for the replacement of the existing AMP sky sign with the new Zurich illuminated signage at 600 Bourke Place.
The project involved the safe removal of the existing AMP sky sign, followed by the re-cladding of the upper façade with newly fabricated and powder-coated aluminium panels to restore the building finish and provide a clean substrate for the new branding. Beacon then installed and commissioned the new illuminated Zurich sky sign.
Beacon managed every stage of the project, including project management, engineering coordination, permits, traffic management, public protection, fabrication coordination, electrical works, installation and final certification.
Due to the complexity of the site and its location in Melbourne’s CBD, Beacon designed and delivered a specialist access methodology incorporating a full overhead pedestrian gantry at street level and a cantilevered scaffold system suspended from Level 53 to provide safe access to the upper façade.
This project demonstrates Beacon’s ability to successfully deliver complex high-rise branding and façade upgrade projects in live city environments while maintaining strict safety, compliance and stakeholder coordination requirements.
